Yes. biOrb aquariums come with everything needed for a freshwater setup. For a saltwater setup, you can adapt the Service Kit by removing the foam. You would then need to source the salt and hydrometer at your local pet store. If a higher-intensity light is needed, there are a few add-ons you could source. Not automatically. The MCR timer ends in a soft blue “night mode,” not full darkness. This setting is designed to mimic moonlight and provide a calming nighttime environment for your aquarium. If you prefer complete darkness, simply turn the light off using the remote or inline switch.
Does the MCR timer work with color options?
No, the timer function works with white light only. When you set a timer (8, 10, 12, or 14 hours), your biOrb will follow a natural white-light cycle starting in deep blue, rising to white, then returning to blue “night mode.” Colored lighting options must be selected and adjusted separately.
